HENNA ART

For the MMC assignment and presentation purpose, we went to international university of islamic Malaysia for an interview with a henna artist which name Rabia Husain. She is from Arab and she has praticed henna for more than 10 years.

For our group, we have chosen henna as our topic of traditional Malaysian art form. Henna is widely practice and have cultural significance in Indian and Malay culture.

Henna is a rising cultural art form because many people starts to embrace it but the meanings behind it are overlooked. The traditional henna style is starting to face some changes due to popularity. For instance, white-coloured henna on skin and gold-coloured henna sticker is not pure and genuine. Other than that, the general views of henna is commonly known as a type of skin decoration that closely related to Indian, then people know nothing else about it. Hence, it is our main reasons for choosing henna as our topic.

There are several pattern of henna design for us to choose. or else we can bring our own design to do so.

The pattern I had chosen. It was really nice and can be done by less than 5 minutes. This temporary "tattoo" is natural and painless. ^^

Before we leave, we took a group photo with the henna artist and showed our henna design as well. This is a special and happiness experience for me since this is my first try to apply henna in my hand. Besides that, the henna artist we met is quite a nice person and she has try her best to complete our question during the interview.
